Question HELP advice needed

Need a bit of advice please. This is on ma transit, not ma scoob. I phoned ford dealer with a common fault on ma van. van started and drove fine, but when i accelerated hard the heater plug light flashed and van cut out, but started straight away. They said its common, so i drove van in and left it. mechanic started it and drove it into workshop. Got a call 2 hours later telling me that it is the metering valve on the injector pump would be £150+vat. I tell them go ahead fix it. then i get a call 2 hours later telling me they cant get any diesel pressure, and want me to pay for a new injector pump roughly £800+ vat and labour.I told them NO CHANCE, van was running when it came in. Should i pay or is their anything i can do. Cheers, John.....
