The Mrs drives the Scoob ?!?
Hiya guys, just thought id ask for opinions, experiences and incidents...
The mrs use to drive mine on rare occasions (if hers was being MOT'd or serviced etc), however its been a while now and i have since had it uprated with bolt ons & mapped which would frighten her im sure . As the snow seems to be here for a while and she hates driving in it even in her Picasso Diesel im sure she aint going to ask for the keys in the near future for my motor, but I was curious about any experiences you guys may have had if you willing to share... funny or not lets here you tales
Rob

Oh do behave. You're delving into the realms of the totally unbelievable now ..... I mean, if you'd said that "there are quite a few wimmins on here who have their own dishwasher" I could well believe it ....
But a Scoob ....

My wifey has driven and loved all my cars, as will my kids when they are of age to drive. No point in having a car in the family if everyone can't drive it.
My 355 came back with a little less rubber everytime she got out in it alone
I've also had a couple of Sti's and an Evo 6, all which the wife loved to drive.

I drive the scoob and Mr P drives th Leon.
He is only allowed to drive the scoob when he has been good. I used to think the transition from the scoob to the FR (diesel) would be horrible, but to be fair, it's a nippy car. Not quite as fun though.
I find it odd how some of the blokes on here seem to think that a subaru is too much of a car for a woman. If someone is a good driver, regardless of what they have in the trouser department, that is all that matters.
It swings both ways. If my brother got handed the keys to my car, I would easily imagine I would not see it back in one piece!

You sound like my Mr. He always worries when I drive it no matter what even though he thinks I am a great driver. Am sure it is because he likes being in control and is very much a backseat driver.

Wife has driven both of mine. The RA was by far the quickest and she wasn't shy with it. My wifes first driving experience was in my old GTIR so shes used to quick cars - although the paddle clutch lasted a week
Scoobs are high power but AWD and set up to understeer so quite safe really.

As a Subaru owner for well over 10 years, my wife has been fully insured to drive both examples I've owned. In all that time she has never driven either of them! She's on the policy for emergency purposes only!
She drives a Nissan Primera which, apart from being rather boring, is a stonkingly good car, amazingly tolerant and forgiving. Her driving style would have to change considerably in the STi! All 3 of us - Her, me and the Scoob - would be a bag of nerves!

Ok not my wife but my brothers.
When i first got my scoob, it was the 2nd car id brought and i was well chuffed id got a minter. My bro has always wanted one but the house needing work and there daily commute being a long one a scooby has and probs always will be of the cards.
Anyway my bro's wife is a star a lovely girl and very gentle and she NEVER swear. when she drove my car when i showed them around she gradually got further and further into the rev range the she got onto an island she floored the back end swung around slight and we shot into the sunset in her words as we recoverd the tank slapper
"F***ing have it!!* i speant the whole way back replaying her saying that sentence and laughing uncontrollably
she got out my car at the end and said a beatifull car id like one (she always slagged them off as chav mobiles and being too noisy).
It appears her opinion switched when she drove it.
Women drivers is a bit of a myth i know some Shocking female drivers but i know some real bad male ones too!!.

My other half is insured but hates driving my scoob, by her own admission she lacks spatial awareness!! On the one occasion she has driven it in the last 12 months she got dogged up by some girls in a chavved up vtr and when she parked it almost put it in the wall, apparantely she was put off by the men at her drama group all taking an interest and putting her off!! Now that I've got new alloys and a new front lip she has promised never to drive it again!!

My wife don't drive, I had a broken leg once off work for 9 months. Had to go to and from hospital every week for them to clean.
Sick of going on the bus and the scoob was sat there doing nothinng so I asked if my nan yes NAN would drive mine just to give it a run once a week. I craped my pants dump valve was fitted then. "Nan says what's the noice" I say you killing my car "I'm sorry she said. Told super gram to slow down were in a 40 zone I'm doing 40 she says that's the rev counter nan.
Anyways after a few goes she could drive it not well but she is or was 72 at the time.

When mine actually listens to me in a car (I have an automotive engineering degree so I know a little bit about them ) then maybe. Scares me too often with 90bhp to let her loose with 300bhp.
I try to help but you can guess what happens

My "landlady" drives mine, but since I went beyond 340 bhp, and got an Exedy clutch fitted she prefers not to.
She once demo'd it to a bemused colleague who apparently screamed like a lass on a roller-coaster
dunx
P.S. I don't enjoy wallowing around in her Jeep Cherokee but it is good in the snow !

my wife rarely drives mine but today she went to work and stuffed it sideways into a kerb, both wheels totaled maybe suspension damage, and i was only asking the other day if there was some thing to turn the boost down, dynamix suggested carpet under the pedal, wish id have done that now.
