Anti Car jacking tale of woe.
Got back to a freezing Edinburgh airport last night after a visit to the missus's folk's for xmas. Scoob was in the long stay car park and looked like a block of ice. I had her running and was scrapping windows with the boot open just in case it locked. One nice warm car with clear windows later, i chucked the de-icer in the boot and stupidly closed the boot before i opened a door. Clunk! one locked running car. ARGH!!.
Luckily was pretty well wrapped up and walked back to the airport to call the AA who sorted it before i got back to the car Kudos AA!!
But had i been in the middle of nowhere id have been rather screwed. Id rather not use the old skeleton brick on my baby.
Anyways..Is there any way to disable this feature?. I have a 99 facelift classic. Failing that any other tales of woe??

You should be able to disable a feature like that on any alarm. What alarm system do you have? or was it a standard one fitted to the car from the factory or as an extra?. There are plenty of instructions for alarms on-line. My old VR6 had a small toggle switch hidden under the dash board to disable this feature on it's alarm system.
Glad the AA sorted it out for you but what a pain for you.

Its the standard alarm system mate, Ill need to dig out some paper work and do some searching on the net. Yeah makes sense to disable it, i get why its there but im sure mostly its just kept dizzy owners like me staring into a car and getting very angry. Ya AA were top, gave the dude £20 for his efforts. Well impressed with that.

It's such a pain when you don't have the instructions for these things - hope you can "dig" it out . I had my alarm fully checked over and re-cirtified for my insurance....so I knew exactly what alarm the car had fitted and I found instructions on the net for it. I also needed them as the key fob only has one button to set different things on/off so you need to know the sequence of button presses! Good luck, Gareth

Id rather it did not do that at all myself man. I'm not too worried about getting car jacked. You obviously have not locked your self out. It sucks really bad. I know im stupid for doing it, but i'm sure i'm not alone here.
