Now that one of you has decided to take the " whats ttt and bttt mean? " thread, and put it in it's righfull place, how about "moderating" the rest of the forum, and putting the other inappropriate threads in their rightfull place too ???????

Fast Bloke,
I don't know if you were trying to be funny, and maybe left off a smiley face ?
If not, maybe you should stay in "Muppet land", because your name obviously refers to your sexual prowess, and not the speed of you brain
Now that we have so many enthusiastic new moderators, it would be great to see the forums tidied up. After all, I assume that's why they've been appointed !!!!!

There are times when muppet replies are not suitable. This is one of them.
Please extend Mark the courtesy he deserves. He has probably contributed more to this forum than all the moderators put together.

Have to add that today seems to be a very good day in terms of moderation - lots of threads being moved to more appropriate forums as requested over the last few weeks
Thumbs up for the moderators today

MIK,
I can only assume that you are taking "my tone" out of context then.
Either FAST BLOKE was trying to be facetious, in which case he neglected to use a "smiley face", or, he was being blo*dy mined, and deserved my reply, which ALSO included a smiley face !!!
The quality of posts on SCOOBYNET has deteriated dramatically over the last year, to the point where it should be renamed "TOSS*RNET".
I, like many others, are lothe to see this happen, but it seems that the vast majority are happy to see it go the way of a bbs for "Sun readers"....
I'm sure this will be disputed, but IMO, this would never happen if SCOOBYNET was NONE COMMERCIAL, and CONTENT was more important than the number of hits generated.
The moderation has improved recently, I just hope it continues.

Mark - I'm not sure - Is pointing out an irony being facetious or being bloody minded?
p.s. - Name has nothing to do with brain power or sexual prowess.... It would have been lightening bloke or slow bloke respectively

It's very tempting to go full on and move threads here there and everywhere. Before I decide to move a thread I look at the user and if they are new I leave it for a little longer than I would someone who's been here a while.
Having your thread moved, on your first few posts can be a little off putting so I tend to give scooby newbies a little more leeway. Unless of course they flout the non libel, no ****/swearing or no adverts rules
I can of course go whap whap whap and have a mass tidy up, but then that would swamp the threads in the other forums. IMHO it's better to trickle the threads over the course of a day and give things time to settle that whap a thread as soon as it appears.
The right balance needs to be struck between instantly tidying up and maybe stopping the poster getting answers/feeling miffed is thread was moved after 20 seconds and of polluting the forums with stuff that belongs elsewhere. It's a delicate line, and one that shifts with every post..
It was often 24-48 hours before a thread was moved, Since simon opened things up, that has dropped to nearer 3-4 hours.
Thanks for the feedback.

you obvioulsy take a lot of pride in your moderating.
I can't believe how much effort and thought you put in to moving some writing from one place to another.
kind of makes my life tiny and meaningless by comparison.

IMHO putting smilies after a comment doesn't take the offence away. It is like kids saying "only kidding" after saying something horrible.
Just to add I do appreciate the effort the moderators of all the forums are putting in on the forums. The effect is quite remarkable.

Mark (r16ket) ~ I was just being flippant
I'd agree there is a heulluva lot of rubbish "infiltrating" scoobynet these days - affecting all forums unfortunately.
Your post however was on page1 along with 6-off moved threads, so I'm not sure the mods require / deserve the rebuke.
Cem ~ I don't think anyone is doubting Marks' input or contribution to the site?

Also,
Feel free to use the 'report to modetator button' if there's a thread that's misplaced.
I actually think, that since Simon opened things up theres been more moving of misplaced threads than what theres been for a long time. It's not been 24 hours yet, so give it time
I did'nt take R19KET's comments as a dig, more a confirmation of what I already knew. Also if FB and R19 are going to fight, can they do it after school so I can watch <<< Joking...

Hang on a minute, isn't this getting a bit out of perspective. Extend courtesy because someone has "contributed something", that's creating double standards and saying 22b owners should have road presidence.
MC
Should have added, courtesy by default

I would hope everyone was extend courtesy as a matter of course. I certainly try to although sometimes I slip up unintentionally.
One of the issues that has been afflicting Scoobynet was the lack of courtesy being extended to the members.

Mattel,
You obviously take peoples comments far more seriously that most others. Even "Fast Bloke" accepted my comments, realising they were in jest.. even if he is somewhat DELUDED
Mik,
I wasn't having a "gripe" at the moderators, the "bttt, ttt" thread SHOULD have been moved, if not deleted. It was more a case of "why" that thread, and not some of the others, that are so obviously in the wrong forum.
It's a little silly complaining about cluttering forums by correctly moving threads, when they should have been in there in the first place.
It astounds me how anyone can complain about the content of the Muppet forum, given that it appears that "most" of the Muppeteres only priority is how many posts they can make !!!!!!

I was trying to avoid commenting on Cem, and Adams remarks. Whilst I appreciate there support, I deserve no more, or no less than anyone else on this board.
Curtesy where it's due, respect where it's earnt. There are others who contribute FAR MORE to this board than I, and I'm sure will continue to do so.
My main interest, is seeing just what we can squeeze out of the Subaru engines, proving the sceptics wrong, and looking forward to SCARING THE SH*T out of the Cossie guys

Well the thing I really can't stand is the people that sit there and wait for the CORNERs to appear.
I mean what is go good about getting the CORNER
I'm not interested in the CORNER

Think that is the problem, too much of the stuff from the Muppet Forum invading General.
When the Muppet forum was first created I thought it would be a good idea, i.e a place to send all the threads about Koni equiped Cavaliers etc. so they didn't clog up general. Now it appears to have gone the other way with threads that should be in the Muppet forum just appearing in general and nobody querying it because it is so common place now.
I know this is probably going to upset a lot of people but I for one would be happy if the Muppet Forum disapeared.

Talking about swearing !!!!!
How come some people seem to type swear words into every sentence and get away with it ( namely IMATHICKAR$E )

Mark not all 22B owners think they are road Presidents
Some 22B keepers behave like developing country despots
You only need to get out of the way when you are limitted to the 112MPH of your particle accellerator on a motorway!
On twisty stuff I don't know anyone that could keep up with you
I am delighted the moderators have had a new lease of life, I am saddend by the perceived treatment of others who have tried hard to play Canute
Good luck to all moderators and long may Webbie's business prosper

Anders you loon, its long may she prosper and all who sail in her init?
Mark, comercialism has **** all to do with the influx of people who post crap. The reason more moderators have been asigned to the most popular/abused forums is to try and reduce the impact made by some of the less desirables that have discovered this BBS. That isnt meant to sound like a snobbish remark because it's not, what i mean by that is there has been a change in the low level that some people are going to and we aim to stop that. It's hard to express what i mean but everyone knows what i am talking about. ( i think )
No new Moderators have been added, just some of the original ones have been given more access to the forums that need more moderating.
Moderators can only make changes in forums they are listed in, thats why we couldnt act before more quickly. At the moment Chris, richard and sal are in Catalunya so you arent seeing any input from them yet. Wait till next week and you should see a change, neil is the only active new mod right now.
As to comercialism, does it really matter to the way we use the BBS? There isnt actually any comercialism other than the banner adds helping pay for the site running. No one is paid here, i certainly have never recieved a penny for helping keep this place somewhere worthwhile to visit. I do it because i have gained a lot in terms of information, contacts, advice and friendship from being a part of this comunity. I am giving something back for free.
I could quite easily not be a moderator and still get the same benefits from being on this BBS but i choose to give up some of my free time for the benefit of this place as a whole.
Lets not forget what this place is all about, it's a medium for comunicating ideas and information and making contacts and maybe even some friendships. If it werent that we wouldnt be having this conversation.
Now then, lets get comercial for a second, RICKET, i think the total you owe me to date for consultancy is about £3,500, i accept paypal and cheques. LOL
