Or you can replace the complete lock set. Easy enough to do, and not too costly from a scrappy, just remember to swap the transponders from the original keys.....

you can set the new (2nd hand) ignition barrel to take the old key, thats what i did.

basically you just move the pins until the original key moves it,takes about 2 - 3 hrs when not done before

A 97 JDM wouldn't have the transponder in the key, so lockset replacement should be a lot easier and cheaper. Search ebay, or people breaking on here.

no problem,im sure a locksmith will do it for you, prob charge about £20 i would guess

its fairly easy to do,theres only about 7 pieces and you just take one out, refit it until the key works, once i did it when i had to do it again it took alot less time.It is surprising how pathetic the ignition barrel really is

good luck

Joey turbo is correct. JDM do not have transponders. Read the original post too quick. My bad.

Good luck rejigging the barrel to your key. I did it once before on an (old) orion fuel cap.

Yeah old Subaru stock though. Subaru dealers most likely won't have them in stock.

impartsb46 are IM UK who own the Subaru franchise. Their stock includes stuff from the early 90's to the current Levorg and you get a Subaru invoice.
