Default Scared the life out of me

Today while driving along the A127 at speed I noticed what might be water spray .... or steam from under the car. I pulled over as soon as it was safe , opened bonnet and saw water everywhere . I drove to a garden centre about 4oo yards away and topped up the water ( took about 2 pints) called AA , was informed breakdown vehicle would be along in 6 hours so decided to drive to a relations about 2 miles further thinking the engine was knackered now anyway. at my relations I saw water driping down from the o/s cam belt cover .... it turned out to be a tiny pin hole in the top hose underneath it , phoned the main stealer and was told the hose splitting underneath is common . It might be worth checkings yours . Oh and it seems my engine survived

16 years from a hose, can't complain about that. Alot of cars of that age are on scrap heap (I know my old 1993 Escort is), will the car still be on teh road in another 16 years?

Having said that, the Jag's mostly on its original hoses and thats 27 years old.
