I see so many posts when someones purchased something and then say "I brought it"
Another one is "could of" instead of "could have"
BOT: Headers is the worst one i know, as above its definately manifold. Used to live out in Texas for two years, had many arguments about the proper words and pronunciations! Main word was "aluminium"!! lol

I hate the phrase " I'll touch base with you on that" (I would love to touch the end of their nose with my fist) or when people give you a "Guestimate", for f*cks sake where do you think you are?
I also hate it when people use header instead of manifold, when I first owned a Subaru and started using SN I thought what the hell are headers?
They are exhaust manifolds, but unless you use the H word a lot of Subaru owners do not have a clue what you are talking about.

For me the most annoying word that americans use apart from awesome is "gotten".
Not sure whats wrong with just "got" myself. Just another pointless word invented by them.
also why the hell do they write the date down wrong?
eg today is 22/12/09 in the Us its 12/22/09. - very annoying when you are writing out travellers cheques and they then tell you , you've got the date wrong and make you put them right by writing it wrong.

I hate that too, smallest to the largest. The funny thing is how have a way of making it sound as though they're selling you back an improved version of your own language.
can't we invade?
Only 30 stone? They must be the slim ones. No wonder they need muscle cars.

I was watching one of those American police dramas, the name of which escapes me for the moment, anyway a victims house had been 'burglarised'. What on earth is this? Later it was refered to again as a 'burglarisation' or more probably a 'burglarization'.
I would love to continue this thread but is there any chance I can take a rain check. (Did I use that correctly? I wasn't sure)
