hi i have a spare engine in my shed from my old 1995 wrx...now i have been told its a fully closed deck block because the inlet bolts are in a straight line...is there any other way to find out if its a closed deck semi close deck or open deck? cheers
dont think 95 wrx's came with a closed deck block.
inlet bolts in a straight line just indicate that a v1/2 inlet manifolds used.
closed deck blocks got hatching on but cant remember do a search loads of info on here about them

Your right in saying that the CDB had hatching markings over the casing, thats usually the best way to tell if the engine is already fitted
