Default Newage STI power upgrade

A remapped and decatted MY03 STI should be around 330 bhp or so.

Would an upgraded turbo increase this to around 360+ and if so which turbo is a good option and are any other additional mods required.

Current mods are

full decat exhaust
ecutek remap
Green panel filter
colder plugs
Walbro pump

I'm umming and arrghing about this at the moment, turbo choice is quite so many options and opinions. What i do know is that if i do change the turbo i think ported headers and injectors may as well be done at the same time. This with the right turbo should see 380-400 hopefully

18g, 321t are 2 that i come across the most when reading various threads. when i mentioned to Ric at Re motorsport he mentioned a turbo that they had started using, but for the life of me i can't remember

18g for 360ish deffo a nice upgrade, spools nicely and just keeps pulling to redline, also not too bad on cost as you need nothing else really.. other than turbo and remap and possibly a 3port.

18g for sure. 3 Port boost solenoid, possible CAIK for around 370-380

Or a 321H, injectors, clutch and headers for around 410.

Depends on your budget, future goals etc...

I have the first setup, along with a good few other mods, headers etc. It's a great car and setup, spools well. Which is why i never went for the 20g, as friends had put me off because of the later spooling. I've been out in a 321H car running about 420. It didn't feel much different, only from about 6300 onwards. Just seemed to hold 1.6 bar ish all the way up, whereas the my 18g peaks at 1.6 bar and holds 1.4.

I don't know how the 321H drives around town with spooling when it's not being gunned.

Whichever path, it will make it a beastie. You'll need a helluva lot more concentration when gunning it and be fully committed. Took a while to adjust from an almost "foot flat down anywhere: 330bhp car", to a "Holy ****, the back wants to overtake the front" type of car.

You'll need your brakes and handling definitely sorted with whichever route you take. ARB, ALK, Springs/Coilovers, Pads and/or discs-calipers.

my brother has a TD05 18G on his UK classic which has had an upgraded engine rebuild and it pulls like a train all the way up and beyond the redline. He says it's also great for around town with very good drivability, not hesitant.

So the 18g seems the most popular choice. Is this a TD05 turbo?

Is yours a 3" decat? If not, then that might be a restriction on gaining the best from that turbo.
