Insurance companies

Had a SS backbox, Cibies and ITG panel filter fitted a couple of weeks ago. I told my broker about it beforehands and was told that there was no problem with these mods and that there probably wouldn't even be an increase in premium.
Yesterday (2 weeks after my original phone call) I got a call from my broker telling me that my insurance company has refused to accept these mods!
Bit of a shock finding out I had been driving around without insurance for 2 weeks!
So I started phoning around for alternative quotes. Finally found a half decent quote and took it as I wanted to drive home legally...10 minutes later I got a call from my broker telling me that they had persuaded my original insurance company to accept the mods with no increase in premium!
Bas (very p****d off!)

Always put it in writing in the first place........
You weren't driving without insurance. Legally under the Road Traffic Acts your insurer has to give 7 days notice of cancellation in writing if they are going to cancel your policy.
But the broker is a *******.....probably guessing as to what they think the insurer will say. Unfortunately it's not uncommon.

Yeah but the premium for my new policy is £120 higher than the last one...not too worried about that though cos my policy was up for renewal in 6 weeks anyway and I was expecting a bigger increase than that.
Still gonna give the brokers a piece of my mind though.
