WR1 R777SUB ???
I am going to have a look at a wr1 today R777SUB, does anyone know anything about this car or the previous owner or history?
With a number plate like that someone from here has got to know the car!

O a couple of things to lookout for when taking a look at the wr1
Knocking noise from rear, rear shockers are a problem with these cars
Serviced at regular intervals as with any performance car
What mods are done if any
There are a few more but I cant remember them all off the top of my head, but have a look on the wr1 site there is some very useful info on there.
Sorry if you know all this allready, but hope this helps and good luck!
I have loved evey minute of owning and driving my wr1

I was thinking about putting a bid in on this but the fact somebody will have thrashed the ar*e off it really put me off and if its been stolen recovered but not on the register why has a salvage company got it
Will the dealer not give out details of the history assuming it was done at a Subaru dealer.

I thought about buying it also but this WILL eventually go on hpi! Ive previously bought hpi clear cars to then find 6 months down the line it comes up. End of the day if its been paid out by insurance it has to be on hpi. Cant be worth more than 7k..... Also like previosly said, the tw*ts that stole it could of been running round in it for months on dodgy plates so its always gonna be a gamble. Well ive talked myself out of it now ha ha.

Decided not to bother, The hpi was all clear but there were plenty of other things that did not add up! Plus it turned out that there was NO history or service book so from my point of view its was no good. Plus just a little heads up for anyone else interested, the miles dont add up! It has done 0 miles in the last 13months.........I dont think so mate!

Hi Rich,
I know you are pulling out of buying this WR1, but i can shed a wee bit of light on the first owner of it. We sold it from new in April 04. We then brought it back when he brought a 5dr WRX in August 06. It had full service (to 24 month/20000 miles) then. We then sold it very soon after and never saw it again. The guy's name was Ron Billingham, and as you can see; World's Oldest Known STI Owner he is not a boy racer type. He traded in his 911 for a Spec B Legacy, then this, then a Blob WRX, then Hawk WRX, then an RB320 and finaly a hatch STi. He loves Subarus, but is ill and so can no longer drive.
*And start breathing*
All the best
Kelvin

Cheers Kelvin,
Its a shame whoever had it last has pissed a good car up the wall, I could trace the history to 20k and then to 40k in 2008 but after that nothing and they are saying it still has 40k but NO history??
Thanks Rich
