Wheel offset for a hawkeye

Wheel offset for a hawkeye
Looking to upgrade the wheels and the ones I want are 8 inch wide with offset et40.
Will this be okay as I've been told that for an 8inch wide rim I should stick to between et42 - et47, beyond this range may cause wearing on the wheel bearings.
How true is this? and if so, how expensive is it to replace the bearings?
Any advice much appreciated.

I'm thinking of going for 235/35/19.
The wheels in question are OZ Racing wheels. I have been told the wheels will fit, but because the wheels are 19 x 8, the offset should be higher than et40.
Any thoughts as to running lower offset wheels? 2-3mm less doesn't seem a lot in my opinion.

Hi
On our last demo car, '06 Hawkeye STi we had 8x19" TSW wheels ET40 fitted with 235/35/19 Toyos and there were no real problems. The rear tyres would catch a bit on the rear arches under full load but normal driving it was fine.
Which OZ wheels are you looking at as most current 19" OZ's are either ET35 (No good) or ET45 (Perfect)?
Thanks
