im going to keep my scooby now but need some more help??
hi all
got a 97
2000 tuned to about 240 -250 bhp
but looking to put in sti red top engine with only 30,000 miles all tested just want to know if i would need new ecu and how easy is it to swop over ?

you will need ecu loom etc. its long.com. chances are nothing will be the same, dash clocks etc. can be done but its long. been there done that, didnt bother!

the engine loom will be different between the 2. (small differences but still different) A 2000 gear box will go bang before you know it, years 97 and 98 are so random in fitmets its unbelivable, engine may not fit the box.
depending on the year of the STI donor, the dash clocks have different connectors behind them, the wires on a 2000 loom do not follow the same routes as a STI loom. I know this as i was going to do the same to my97 2000. through advice from this forum and such companys as API i was told AGAINST the swap.
Go buy an STI mate

1997scooby, now were back on topic... Give david at API a ring. you cant go wrong with him, they are highly rated and helped me out alot when i was juggling my options as to what to do with my scooby when it went bang.
I warn you tho buddy, NOTHING is simple when it comes to a scoob even if theoreticly its possable somthing will always jump up and bite you in the *****. (especially my97s)
David @ API gets my vote. also scoobyclinic are closer (as i see your in croydon) so try them too! hope this helps dude.

I know nothing is simple with a Scooby
just wish I did my home work on them b4 I bought it still fast car and in good nick
just looking to get or buy 350+bhp Scooby
but one day it will happen anyone else know a good place to buy ?
