it will work as is, just fit you standard injectors, turbo, maf,for it to work and get the most gain from doing it, you will need sti ,
ecu
maf
injectors
turbo

you will also need to change some wires over on the ecu for it to work

I wouldn't bother mate. Sell yours. Get an sti and keep the other engine as a spare.

the engine loom will be different between the 2. (small differences but still different) A 2000 gear box will go bang before you know it, years 97 and 98 are so random in fitmets its unbelivable, engine may not fit the box.
depending on the year of the STI donor, the dash clocks have different connectors behind them, the wires on a 2000 loom do not follow the same routes as a STI loom. I know this as i was going to do the same to my97 2000. through advice from this forum and such companys as API i was told AGAINST the swap.

Go buy an STI mate

you don't even know if the engine will fit the box so how can you possibly know anything else, worth actually knowing?? the advice i have given to the OP is correct, if YOU cant ad anything correct and constructive to the OP`S post then don't!

1997scooby, now were back on topic... Give david at API a ring. you cant go wrong with him, they are highly rated and helped me out alot when i was juggling my options as to what to do with my scooby when it went bang.

I warn you tho buddy, NOTHING is simple when it comes to a scoob even if theoreticly its possable somthing will always jump up and bite you in the *****. (especially my97s)

David @ API gets my vote. also scoobyclinic are closer (as i see your in croydon) so try them too! hope this helps dude.
