Subaru warranty!!!!!
#1
I bought my car 6 months ago from a main dealer, and it came with 12 months subaru warranty.
Since purchasing my car the heated rear windscreen has not worked properly. I mentioned this at my service and I was told that it would be sorted, great I thought. I dropped the car of yesterday to be "sorted". I got back to pick it up last night and they have put silver paint about 1/2 inch thick on the heater lines. It looks awful, I have been told to take it back next week to have the access paint scrapped off!
Has anybody else had this done by a MAIN DEALER?

When I used to work for a Rover main dealer we had to do a similar thing.
If the HRW isn't working correctly it is normally due to the element being physically damaged. As this is not technically a fault with the car, but is in fact accidental damage, it won't be covered under the manufacturers warranty.
The knack is to use 2 lengths of insulating tape either side of the element leaving a very narrow gap in the middle, the special conductive paint is then applied to the screen and the tape removed while still wet.
Doing it this way, you hardly notice anything.

Scoob 99, I don't think I should name the Dealer. But it is a big Midlands Subaru Main Dealer.
WRXBOB, I thought that's what they would do but instead they have applied with what only can be discribed as a toothbrush! It is literally 1/2 inch wide.
I was told they would take the access off with a razor blade, I think this will be very difficult without cutting the wires?
