###My last dance with the Scoob, 344bhp at 1.2bar thanks PE###

Well what can I say after spending alot of wedge on my car I now have the figures to go with it. After my disappointment at the recent rolling road day I went back to Power engineering for another 4 runs .
We found 2 things:
1. My car was making so much power at the wheels it was slipping on the rollers in 4th gear and hence at the first RR day only making 315 bhp.
2. The low horsepower was down to the afore mentioned fact and that because it had a 12% CO so it was running very rich.
So after a slight bit of tweaking from Merv and Steve on the Ecu and running the car in 5th Gear the car made 344 bhp on average across 4 runs, it peaked at 347bhp on went as low as 341bhp so was very consistent. All this at 1.2 bar and more than that the map is as safe as houses. It apparently will run all day long at that. We could have got more power running at 1.3/4 bar but then I would have been compromising the safety/reliability of the engine and as the car is for sale I didn't want to (by the way Jim if you could give me a bell I am sure you will be happy with these figures but I want to talk about your offer)
What 344bhp looks like:
Nice
Anyone interested in buying my car you can see full details at:

M3 performance for half the price.........bargain performance car of the decade???
On another note I would like to thank Steve and Merv and Chris at Power Engineering. Make no mistake people these guys really know there stuff and very nice blokes to boot. I have in the past been guilty of being a sheep and listening to other people’s judgments and tarring PE with the same brush. What a mistake to make, I for one incorrectly have not gone to PE to have work done, all I can say is that this will change in the future, sorry chaps and thanks for your help.

My brother and I paid a visit to PE this week and he got his ECU remapped on a standard MY99. The before and after runs showed a really good increase in both torque and bhp (he has the readouts) but the impressive thing was how it has improved the curves in every respect. There is more low down, the curves are smoother and don't tail off as much. The real proof is that it has transformed the way the car feels and drives.
Before having the remap done Merv went thru the settings with us and I am sure that this map is very conservative, 1.1 bar with safe mixtures.
In Evos many people swear by a PE remap and it certainly has proved to be a very reliable way of realising the potential of the car. If I didn't already have something rather special under my bonnet, I would not hesitate to go that way.

SimonEvoExtreme (my bro) said my car was a MY99 it is MY98.
No other mods except ECU at PE
Before 243BHP After 267BHP
before 227 lbs/ft After 257 lbs/ft Torque
This is with a standard exhurst.

blimey - thats a good figure Scott - at only 1.2bar!
Wonder how come Mo and Trout didnt manage that running more boost and WI - and probably more advance!
Whats the secret Scott!, so I can beat these pesky rivals at a future RR day

Mook
With water injection you can run higher ignition advance and will be able to get bhp/torque overall gains if mapped properly, despite the replacement of water instead of petrol. Should be good for about 20bhp
