Dont quite see how its the councils fault to be honest. You could try but I doubt if you will get anything.

Chances are this is an insurance or out of your own pocket job.

looks like blocked drains, councils fault, lack of maintenance, if they cleaned drains, there wud be no water and u would still have ur splitter.

Gutted for you pal. The damage to that splitter looks bad! I believe you that you weren't going fast so the only other thing is that it hit that drain cover and broke off or came off and someone may have run over after it came off?? Nightmare eitherway. You could try the small claims court against the council but I wouldn't hold out much hope unfortunately.
DR Motorsport do a similar splitter, fully painted to your cars colour code for around £180. Not what you want to here I know but hope it helps

you got photo evidence, try a letter to council, my mate hit a pot hole, letter to council, they paid for a new wheel and tyre, and then filled the hole. simple process for him, ande the inclded fitting, and balancing. he had to get a estimate from bodyshop.

You cant really blame the council for that tbh, roads flood due to excessive water coming from all sorts of locations to the lowest point, sometimes the drains cant handle it as debris is pushed into the sewage system from distant locations (you get a fair bit of debris in autumn/winter due to falling leaves/branches etc), and your spoiler looks VERY flimsy.
Gives you the chance to put something decent on there now

Tony
