Just wondering if anyone knew whether there would be more 5 speed gearbox Subarus at present in the UK than 6 Speed gearbox Suabrus. This includes all years, classic, newage & even Leagcys, Foresters, UK & imports.

I would imagine only the Sti's came with 6 speed boxes so most probably there are a lot more 5 speeders?

Any one have any info or ideas on a subject not really ever discussed before I think??

As no classics came with a 6 speed box, and no newage WRX's I think it is fair to say loads more 5 speeds than 6 speeds. If I was to hazard a guess at the split, 25 to 1 ratio

I might even up my first guess at ratios to at least 100 to 1 after more thought. There are probably offical figures for sales in the UK of STI against the WRX, GL etc but it won't include the imports.

My question isnt without some point though! Im going to be importing some original Sti gearknobs & want to figure out in what quantities/ratio to order 5 speed & 6 speed ones? Trying to figure out demand for Sti gearknobs, Im thinking there isnt going to be much demand for the 6 speed ones as most 6 speeders will already have that sti gearknob as std.

Also the 6 speeders will generally be newer and won't have worn as much as say an older classic.
