I know this has been asked before, but as the search is not working, I will ask the question again.

I've got a MY99 Impreza, I am after the cheapest and best looking mudflaps available. I have looked at the rally style ones on GGR, but they are too expensive, anyone got a cheaper soloution?

PS- any pictures will be useful.

Cheers.

I have looked at Scoobymods.com and they have a template to make your own rally mudflaps, has anyone made these mudflaps? If so, will they have enoough clearance on my 17" wheels?

Cheers.

I hav ethe £40 pound ones from subaru - but you can fit the non turbo ones if you dont mind drilling into the blabk sill protector with a self tapper. The ones I saw looked better that the £40 ones and cost about a tenner. List price for proper turbo ones is about £50 quid but ask for a discount I did and they said yes!

I have used the templates on Scoobymods to make my mudflaps. I think they look pretty good, but unfortunately I have no pictures.

One piece of advice if you decide to go that route...skip the seperate template for the brackets. I used both templates, and they don't quite match up. If I were to do it again, I would use the mudflap template and then measure a one-inch width along the top edge to make the bracket. Once on the car, it's hard to tell that my brackets aren't perfect, but I know it...

Best of luck with it, and e-mail me if you have any questions. I'd be glad to help.

Vinesh, I bought mine from http://www.primmracing.com

They are here in the States (California, I believe), so I have no idea if it would be worth it to have them ship to the UK.

Hi M8

I used the ravensblade site to make my own.If you don't mind a bit of a fiddle and enjoy having a go yourself it's ideal.
If your going to make them it's best to make some full size templates to give you an idea of how they will look and how you need to mount them.
The cheapest place I found for mud flap material is Yorkshire rally spares. They advertise in the back fo motorsport news.
I'll se if I can find there number and post it up.
I'll take a picture and post it up when I get some time tommorrow.

Chris

Oops...the mudflaps directions that I used were the ones from the Ravensblade site, not Scoobymods. I thought they were the same directions, as the owner of Ravensblade is a regular contributor to Scoobymods. I have no experience with the other mudflaps.

I would second the idea of making a full size template first. I used an empty breakfast cereal box so mine would be fairly stiff. I then used an x-acto knife to score the material around the template, and then cut with a full size utility knife. Took a bit of time, but they are quite effective.

A friend has some fitted to his Imprezza Sport, the same as those fitted to the Forrester. About £20 from your friendly Scooby dealer. They clamp to the wheel arch. As someone pointed out, grab them quick before they put a Turbo sticker on the bag and charge £50 for the set.
