Default Which brake pads?

Not sure if this falls into the " silly question " category or not.

On my MY04 STi i've got the usual brembo brake set up, the question i have is do i have to use brembo pads? or are there alternatives that i could use?

Yea there are other pads, and they will be cheaper than the Brembo pad sold by the dealers.

My personal choice for an uprated pad would be the Ferodo DS2500, an excelent pad with good "cold" bite & a good fast road pad with no squealing. These pads work very well, & if bedded properly will be a great improvement over the std brembo pad.

Lots of different pad options, depending on how you use the car.

Best to call 01462 488244 for a chat and advice

I can advise you on a suitable pad for your driving style , plenty of different makes and heat ranges to choose from , ranging from £50 to nearly £300 a set !

If you want to ring me on 01656 723060 , all I specialise in is brakes , nothing else , so will offer you the best possible advise
Cheers Ian

After speaking with graham goode, roger clark motorsport and scooby clinic i was advised by all 3 to avoid EBC pads...was recommended ferodo 2500's as mentioned higher up, but were a bit pricey...so was told next best were mintex 1155's...so thats what i had fitted (only £78 pair)...only downside is cold bite not instant (bit of waming up needed)...but once up to temp, stop well
