Has stripped interior and safety devices weld/bolt in cage.

Do you get through many boxes then? The reason I ask is,

I managed to make my first gear whine real bad after just 2 launches at Trax................. And its a supposedly stronger later model box my00 ???

At present its off the road over winter, so its going to get replaced or o/hauled any recommendations?

Still the original box....it wont go into 1st gear unless you put it in second first.....and is getting quite difficult to come down the box now...second to third when revs are up is nearly impossible!!!
And it crunches in fith......

So on its last legs i presume.....so i better start saving.

I thought i might be getting towed home yesterday.....but it held together.

The justification isnt there to spend 2K , the truth is I own 3-4 grands worth of car tops there is no sense. Maybe one day if one comes up cheap?

For now I think ill leave the drag racing well alone and stick to trackdays.

I couldnt believe the variety of cars it was good fun. My gearbox held up im just running the standard 97 type r running gear.

At what Rpm was you launching from, with a little more experiance i would like to get my 60ft time down which i think would get me into the high 11's

Launching with dccd locked and at about 6-6500rpm.....let the R888,s down to 20psi....

I was hoping to get a 1.6 60ft ...... previous best was an 11.93 at 113mph.

You too have 5 gear changes due to the short ratio box....i wonder if a uk box would help to better 1/4 mile time..???

There were some lovely yank cars running.....brilliant the way they twist the front up in the air on launch.

Ill have to try lowering the tyre pressures next time too it was more a learning curve more than anything for me. I think with a bit more practise and try tire pressures lower i could be down in the 11's. I am full trim not looked at stripping weight yet so really chuffed with the result.

Blue UK Sti blob
i had a crack at the 1/4 mile for the first time, Although iv been a regular at the pod since i could walK (MY dad races a 230 mph pro modified car)

prety dissapointed first ever attempt the usual cluster f**c at the start line and a 12.0@119

i was well up for it shure id get much lower and tried too hard and cooked my clutch on the second attempt from then on it got worse and worse so i gave up and went home befiour i needed towing,

the clutch is a exedy twin plate i thought that would be enough.obviously not...
what clutch do i need?

no point if two starts can kill it it was almost new so i need something stronger,
one thing i learnt in my years at the pod is that stip of tarmac can take a rich man and make him a poor one very quickly,

I know most of the pro racers well and they say the same...its a drug

Sounds strange the clutch not coping to be honest mate i did 5 runs launching from 5000 rpm. Ive got a uprated organic clutch and couldnt feel any difference at the end of the evening. What was your 60ft time?

best was 2.0 way slow but it just spun all the wheels and hit the limiter befour it moved
then 234 was ok into 5th and it just drove straight through the clutch at the end of the track the clutch had gone very light like the springs had gone soft, after a while it got some feel back in it then every time after that it got worse till it slipped in all gears
the first run was ok went 97 mph in the eighth after that it was toast!

any ideas??
