Cool

All those at the SIDC for organizing the event and organization during the day, Stef, Pete, Rob, Harj and those I have missed.

Thanks to the following for entertaining me.

Scott in his awesome Evo6 GSR, the way these things get the power down is unbelievable.

Sam in his modded Impreza some strange lines at times including a short cut across the grass. Only joking M8

Dingy, the MK2 had slicks fitted and was eventually allowing him to get some power down. 440bhp/ton really pushes you into the seat.

Matt (Type R) This Civic may not have awsome grunt out of the bends but it doesn't need it, carries all the speed through the bends. Hard for me to describe the way it goes through Craners, it was embarrassing some serious machinery today.

To everyone else I saw today it was nice to meet you all again. Lets hope its a bit warmer next time.

Well it certainly beats a Sunday in front of the TV but it was cold and foggy to start with.......

Nice to finally meet some of those I've spoken to on Scoobychat - Harj, Doc, Puff and ChrisP. <edit> Also thanx to Graham Cowland for the advice on strut braces and the like.

I must also say that although I originally had grave doubts over the new wrx, seeing Pete's today has certainly swayed my opinion. I know aesthetically it's just wheels and the spoiler (I think anyway), but it definately looks much better. It looks like it goes alright as well

Til next time,

David

Looks really good in the flesh, in the pit lane I didnt hear one bad comment all day and plenty of good comments. Looks like a proper impreza now . Just needs the WRC headlamps IMHO and I maybe tempted . I think Mr C will sell quite a few of those spoilers .

Indeedy....what a superb day.

SIDC for sorting it all out...
The hands of tires NH for not feeling the cold.
Stef for his walkie talkie antics

Thanks to Mr Fog for final lifting so we could get some time out on the track.

On the whole I think the more thorough drivers briefing worked out quite well, the track seemed a much safer place to be. I remember back to my first time and its quite un-nerving having a car home in on your butt...well done to the newcommers today you were all pretty well behaved.

As always great to see you bunch...

(you know how you are...I won't name names )

...and thanks to quite a few of you for balancing out the weight of my car by sitting in the passengers seat...hope you all had fun I did

Even my 12 year old little girl enjoyed traveling round the melbourne hairpin a bit sideways

so....whens the next one

Ian

Cool

Was a great day today, cheers to Stef for the organising. Couldn't help staying out as I had a huge on my face all day, Melbourne loop is awesome as I got the back out a few times with a little help from my handbrake friend LOL

Hope Lou_C is ok as the 15 min non stop run was a little jaunting for her I got 1h30m on tape today and it looks great even though Dingy chickened out and ducked into the pits when I was flashing him to move its true that these Cossy boys don't like being overtaken with a 150BHP lesser car LOL

David Brown and I had a little blat and what handling that Exige has, simply undescribable. Steve and Birdy in the Skyline was good fun as it was Steve's 1st time on track and he done a great job controlling the beast, but I think he needs a better coach that Birdy LOL

Apologies to those who I couldn't take out as there were so many people but not enough time.

Enjoyed what action there was in the morning before I had to nip off for the afternoon.

As cold as ever, although the fog was a new visitor.

How come the cafe wasn't open again?

Yep

Great day eventually.

Impressed by David's Exige and Matt's Civic especially the way they handled the Esses and Hairpins. (hope the car's ok Matt)

Highlight 4 me was trying to keep within 1 car length of Puff to record him on video for 30 mins flat out. Unbeknown to us tape ran out on first lap

Big thanks as always to the commitee members for their time and effort and to the star guys from Tyres Northampton.

Thanks to all for organising it, and everyone for making it a brilliant day!

Thanks to Nito for convincing me to sign my life away, and a special thanks to the two Dave's!!

Dave Lewis - Thanks for taking me for a spin, and showing me how it was done! Solid driving from a top bloke. It only showed me how much I need to learn!!!

Dave Brown - Thanks for taking my girlfriend, Caroline for a spin. I know there was a BIG queue to ride with you, but thanks again for being good to your word! She was most impressed, and I think her work mates will be bored of the story by Monday afternoon!!!

Nice to meet a lot more people, and thanks for the interest in my car!! Back on the road again!!!

Cheers

Pff! Who didn't ? with either driver (having said that, it was his first track day.. so can't blame a guy for taking things carefully - respect)

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>Originally posted by salsa-king:<B>Evo is just awesome!![/quote]

Another one or two whooped (running on 3-cylinders BlowDog ? )

Shame I wasn't on the same part of the track as Dingy

I had a great day, managed to get my lines right, and got on the pace once my brakes warmed up (damn yellowstuffs) but once they had, I had a blast.

And if you thought the car was nippy.. just wait till I've got the supercharger fitted for the next Dono - Handling + Power

Apologies to all those I couldn't take out today, as is the way, things get queued up to the end of the day - perhaps next time.

Don't forget the golden rule, the good lookin' girls get priority

Type R

Just mailed you one, not a great camera so the detail's not too great but you can see your inside rear off the road!

Am in process of thumbnailing/eradicating number plates of the rest of my pix, will post link later, was hoping to sort it tonight, but am too tired now, I blame Steve Lawson, Danny Fisher, Dave Lewis and Tony T5NYW Walls for leading me astray in the Thistle bar last night...

Absolutely top day, thanks to all that organised it. I thought the general standard of driving and etiquette today was superb, and the format of the day meant that there weren't too many cars on the track at any one time, so as a relative beginner I wasn't constantly having to ease off to let the better guys through.

Cheers

Great day. Thanks to those who made it so. You know who who are.

Best thing for me was behaviour on track. So much improved, and so much better whether you were overtaking or being overtaken.

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT Day.

Thankyou to the organisers and to all that were there.

This circuit is fantastic. Fast sweeping and undulating, a real tyre killer, mmmm and brakes too. Managed to warp my front discs, severely. But they held out brilliantly all day and even after 15 hard laps, in one stint!! No worries . Loads of sideways action and plenty overtaking.

This circuit is fast damn fast and scary too with hard 100mph+ plunging corners where your hanging on for dear life, well my passenger certainly was. Poor Johnny wasn’t to impressed though, managed to make him feel sick, twice!! He said that he nearly had to ask me to stop mid track and let him out. Hehehehehe.

And as for those so called fast Evo's PAH !! Only slightly quicker on the straights but pu$$y's around them corners. One even spun out on a corner right in front of me, a complete 360degree spin. I had no where to go . Now that was cool!!

Thanks to everyone again. See you next time.

Great day! Cheers to all that organised it.

Can't believe how well behaved everybody was on track - people moved over quickly and I saw no dodgy overtaking etc. Much more enjoyable this time.

Yeah Matt (Civic) - I've got 2 bits of video footage following you (then overtaking you ) I will see if I can make a mpeg/some pics for you.

Cheers to Curtis and Steve Lawson for taking the time to look at my overboost problem - seems OK now.

Good to catch up with everyone else.

What a top day!

Even the fog and freezing cold couldn't detract from it! Cheers to Harj for the early few laps alongside me.

ChrisB - some great photos (1 of me )
Thanks to all who organised it, Pete C for the last minute brake pads (I seem to destroy a set every 20 laps!) and Mark from NH tyres for having endless patience......

Good cruise up too - got some great video footage

Southern lot - see you at the next Quays meet
