Default Uprated Manifold for a type r

I have just bought an uprated un equal length manifold will be fitting it next week, whats the views on performance with one of these on - ive got a few basic mods to my car, looking at getting a remap after fitting this -

was told they help with torque and add a few more ponies lol, hoping this is the case

If your going for a remap to release full potential then i don't see why not...

Mines getting Unequals fitted now and all it has is downpipe/full exhaust/ Walbro fuel pump. And the headers were mentioned to me by Specialists as a next mod to free up some ponies.

As with any breathing mod.. HP and Torque will increase.. But unsure by how much.. Fingers crossed its the 25bhp that everywhere claims.. Lol...

I was told if your keeping under the 350 bhp mark your much better off getting ported headers !! but im sure if your having the car remapped then it will be fine so enjoy

I don't think the headers will do any harm. From what I've been told by the likes of Harvey you've got to weigh up the pros & cons i.e - Tubular headers could give you say 5bhp more in the top end of the revs but you could find turbo spool slower compared with ported jobbies.

Personally I'm going for the ported ones for me type r.

i see, well everything else is de restricted such as decat, uprated air filter with custom heat shield and cold air feed, so hopefully i might gain some extra ponnies. Will be getting a remap possibly after christmas, had it on a rolling road the other week an ran 280bhp but what confused me was it ran extremely rich at the top end, unsure why i thought if anything it would have ran lean. aint sure whether i will need a fuel pump

Did ya reckon you managed that 25bhp then?

On a more serious note hows the car feel now? Whats the turbo spool like etc?

Turbo spool is alot earlier and kicks in ALOT harder!!

I wouldn't like to say BHP difference as i honestly dont know, But its a massive improvement!

AND, I havent lost any Flat 4 burble.. If anything its sounds better than before

Happy happy Joy Joy.... LOL
