car under powerd
my 95 wrx is underpowerd and i knw it not being paranoid lol just deffo isnt kiking hte 280-290 it should be , goin for rolling road on thursday ,and take it from there but anyone got any quick ideas i can check myself ? nothing to mjaor tho lol cheesr adam

i havent done naything lol the owner before the one i bought it off , !! well think the simple answer is goin to be get it ont he rollers 3pm thursday nd see what they say ! hopefully somthing simple and a quick fix , as had a lil tear up wid 2 turbo 2000s tht were running 245-250 and mine was exactly the same and i shud be di*ki*g them lol

he didnt do anything,and obviously doesnt knw that muhc coz he seem tot hink it was prtt damn quik , but i dont lol and no it aint anywer near as quick as it should be supposed ot be running 1.1 bar aprently but on gauge it only ever hitting .9 ,

sounds like a boost leak check all joins on the rubber pipework from the turbo to inletmanifold.

Calm down, take a breath, the hks is prob sucking in hot air from the engine bay, the original setup would prob be more efficient, hot air will drop your power slightly, a fcuked cat will drop power lots, could be many other things. wait for your rolling road and go from there.

standard boost on a 95 wrx is only 0.9 bar anyway so that is right.Not sure where you got 1.1 from as only 1996 onward STi run 1.1 bar standard.If the only mods you have is an HKS mushroom filter then its probably zapping the power and you are nearer 230bhp.Get a decent free flowing induction kit (if you must have one) and a nice cold air feed from the front of the car it will improve the breathing of the car dramatically

apparently it had boost tuened up , didnt say it was running standard boost , but all will be found out today fingers crossed at engine tuner !

verdict is , need new back box as packing is basically chocking up exhaust , bleed valve to be fitted boost turned up and set up again ! indeed its verry good to talk to someone who knows what they are doing ! so basically 3-400 and il be bk up to power and again !

No suggestions about sorting out heat management and the intake then?
IMO the HKS filter (tat ) or any induction kit is pointless without a decent heatshield or unless a cold air kit... and I think you might find thats what other well respected, long time members may be driving at...

martyn at engine tuner , said nothing wrong with hks mushroom filter and the heat shielt that has been made for it is verry good best hes seen does exactly as it should !!!
