End of an era

Dale Earnhardt, Nascar's most successful active driver was killed in a last-lap crash on Sunday's Daytona 500.
For those of you who don't know the name, his loss is to Nascar what Ayrton Senna's death was to Formula 1.
A little reminder that motorsport is and always will be dangerous.

Just seen the accident on the news, and it didn't look like much of a bump, I guess it just goes to show that its not what the accident looks like that denotes how the drivers get on, there was also another crash in the same race, that looked an awful lot more serious, and the guy walked away.
Oh well thats motorsport for you!

He did not 'seem' to be going that fast...but you forget how fast those oval cars travel at....I think he was doing 180MPH+ when he hit the wall.....nasty.
A great loss to NASCAR
