Default Bugeye orange globe

Hi all

Is it possible to remove the orange indicator globe on a bugeye headlight? (done a search but failed )

Yes - try searching for 'detango' as that's what it's refered too.

Two basic options:

1. heat light in oven or with hairdryer/hot air gun. Pull lens off, remove orange part, refit glass. While you're at it you can spray some of the moulding inside in a satin/matt black which looks great (do not spray the reflectors)

2. smash the orange cover from the back (through the indicator bulb hole). use long nosed pilers to remove the bits.

Check the search for temps tips etc - I've never done this though was planning to until I bought STI units!

ive done mine via the second option...ball ache springs to mind! not as easy as it sounds due to limited space and the fact that the orange dome is a tough little bugger

I used the second option, but instead of smashing them used snips to cut them up, removing the bits with long nose pliers. Worked fine and wasn't too tricky.

The oven in my kitchen is just for show as we aint the best of friends...lol...only joking.
Thanks for the tips, will try the pliers option first me thinks

Did the globes today and while I was at it painted the surrounds too (well not me but ill take the credit...lol )
