Scooby costing - help plox
Hello chaps,
So, my last repayment on my car loan is due next month, meaning I should finally have enough money freed up to run another Scooby (happy days).
I don't want to rush into this, and won't buy one unless I'm confident I can afford it without leaving myself too short each month. So, I've put together a simple spreadsheet of prices to work out how much a WRX/Turbo 2000 would cost me in comparison to my current Diesel.
Here's what I have:
Cost Week Month Year (10k)
Petrol £24.91 £99.66 £1,195.89
Tyres £340
Servicing £120
Tax £240
Insurance £800
Total £32.09 £224.66 £2,695.89
(sorry - formatting is screwed. Tyres/servicing/tax/insurance are all for a year).
I've done similar calculations for my Diesel, and the difference per month would be £113.57 more to own the scooby. That's a lot, but do-able.
Now, I realise some of the figures above may be too high (or maybe even low). I've tried to over-estimate how much things will cost. Tax, for example, may be lower than that (I tried to find exact pricing on the net but couldn't seem to) - and insurance could be less (800 was my last quote over a year ago).
Have I missed anything major? I realise I haven't included general break downs and stuff - but I'm not interested in those at this stage, I just want to know what the car will definitely cost me on a weekly/monthly/annual basis.
Any feedback on more accurate costs would also be cool.
Cheers,
Probein
