what an amazing day- thanks scoobytowers
just got home from a brilliant day out. my mate won the big prize at The Northern Big One. a guided tour around BAE systems, where the euro fighter typhoon is built. he took me, his son and another mate.
we were shown around the assembly area, how all the parts were assembled. we were allowed on the work platforms to look at the different stages of assembly. they even fired up the computer's in the **** pit.
then we went into a different hanger, the fighter's were being tested and inspected. we were even shown around a finished one awaiting dispatch. a tester from the MOD was testing the controls on the jet next to us. we even had a b0llocking from a job's worth, because there were 4 adults and an 8 year old on a platform that was rated SWL 4 persons!
then we went to another hanger, there were jet's having overhauls and being brought up to date
then we went outside to the runway, after a short wait 2 hawk fighters took off
we even had a slap up lunch and got some souvenirs to take home
massive thanks to scoobytowers (chris) , all the bod's at BAE that made the day happen and everyone that organised the NBO.

Your welcome
Glad you enjoyed the day - I always try and offer a money can't buy prize for the NBO, just happy that it was everything you expected.
Now I need to put my thinking cap on for next years prize

how about a passenger ride in the eurofighter?
i think theres more chance of winning the lottery and euro millions in the same week
was a brilliant day. journey home was a pain though. 1 hour to do 3 miles. my clutch was smelling, but at least we saw a lambo on the hard shoulder that was overheating such a shame
big thanks to everyone that made the day happen
