Simtek-Whats it worth?
#6
in short its by far the biggest pile of sh-t ecu i have ever seen.
it runs on a ms dos program, my atari has more technology than a simtec
but in answer to your question, i believe that scrap value has gone up so i would nip up to your local scrap yard and get a couple of quid for it, and i would make a sharp exit in case they realise what **** you have sold them.
as for a swap with a gems, try a swap for some midget gems, thats a square deal
hope this true info helps you understand what garbidge you have got

i agree with your comment about all selling your simtecs, with a bit of luck if all you simtec ownwers all clubed together and sold them all, you may be able to save up a bit more and buy one proper ecu between you all thet you could share with a bit more software power than my electric toothbrush
you couldnt even sell em on antiques roadshow or cash in the atic

i think if you work it out right, the ms dos program is over 10 years old so i think its doing well
however my toothbrush is still working after 5 years and my atari is still working
in a nut shell simtec is dated software
question. if you wanted to buy a new computer, would you go to pc world and buy a zx spectrum ?
i think there will not be many of you that will answer yes.
iffectivly this is what you are doing buying a simtec, it simply isnt advanced enough for this day and age

Purple Ronnie it is obvious that you are not a fan of Simtek's , so can you let us know what ECU you are running on your car and a few more details on tuning level?
This is meant as an not attempt to start a 'war' I am just interested in your setup, as I am going either have another remap shortly or I might just choose another ECU with Bob Rawle.
