Cool Check engine codes

Does anyone have a list of the check engine codes for a MY00 Impreza classic.

My check engine light flashed 3 or 4 times this morning when I started it.

I can't get Subaru to check it using a select monitor as I have a Simtek ECU.

Cheers

Steve

Have a look here Steve, it'll tell you how to manualy read the code:

Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / Reading ECU Fault Codes

And here is a list of fault codes:

Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / Subaru Specific Trouble Code Definitions

For a Classic Car you need to stick to the "Subaru Specific" trouble code sections.

The "Generic OBD II" sections are for New Age vehicles.

Hope it's something simple to sort out.

Phil

Thanks Phil, however there is no 3 or 4 listed.

I remember Bob Rawle telling me something about the check engine light flashing when he fitted my Simtek ECU but can't remember what he said.

You should be able to get codes for Subaru out of he obd still even with a Simtek fitted.

BUT, I reckon that the flash det on Steve's car was just a transient det picked up possibly due to oil residue building up in the bore overnight and the car running on a decent amount of ' 2 stroke ' for a few odd momnets until it cleared.

Quick flashes that come and go on Simtek are generally put down to transient det for any number of reasons. You can get transient on a different tank of fuel, even on V-power or Tesco 99, especially if the car is mapped aggressively as it comes on boost..

It is when it starts flashing and keeps on going that causes concern [ to me anyway ]

Solid light on, is either shift light or Rev limiter.

My Knock link always flashes when I start it, damn good test its working, relates to the starter motor and engine firing up, in your case Steve its probably that as well, or just interferance on the knock input, bear in mind the knock sensor is just a microphone.

cheers
