Hi, just got my first Scooby
Hi guys,
I've always wanted one but never been able to afford one. I've just brought one off Ebay with maybe a head gasket failure. Symptoms are bubbles in the head tank, and the owner says there's a 'sissing' noise, from around the engine. Which does sound like a head gasket problem, or do they suffer with anything else critical?
I've done cam belts on them but never engine work, and I have other mechanical knowledge. Just wondering how difficult it is to fix, and if you have to replace the head bolts? Or can you still use the old ones?
Just that I haven't seen the car yet, only pictures. I'm just going off what the previous owner said. I got the car, extra wheels, and other stuff for next to £900 and I'm picking it up Thursday on a trailer obviously lol.
