Default Speed cameras

My son has been nabbed doing 39mph in a 30

we have gonr on the website to look at the photos and calibration certificate, and there are a few questions I have...

What is the distance between the white lines on a Gatso site?

There are no details on the photos as stated in the wording alongside them, ie; Time/date
offence No and speed recorded. Is this a possible get out?

The photos were taken .5 seconds apart, and he traveled 6 lines??

I would guess he has or he would not be able to get the photos, you are gonna be one lucky sod to get off with that or one very sad person if he has 9 points at the mo, there was a test on scameras across the uk and a massive % where wofully out but those guide lines are not for me and you to access

Be careful should you wish to fight the case you will have to goto court, and if you lose you will be gaining your son 1 extra point and a bigger fine, there are very few ways to get out of these now, i went to court and didnt get away with mine so i was given 4 points and a bigger fine.

Tell him to pay up and take it like a man, it only 3 unless he has 9

What bollocks they can give you another point for disputing. Fair enough charge the court fees, but an extra point is BS

Tinternet disputes are a b*%ch, just when you leave the pc someone types a low blow to the bullocks only for you to find it 12hrs later ,
You are right though, go to court instead of taking your points and fine like a good boy and they can give you anywhere between the origanal 3 or up to 6 , nice to know we have a fare deal .
P.s , how come you got 6 points for an sp30 ? year 04.

Er no, it's the other way around. If you choose to go to court the magistrates have a set of possible punishments, usually based around four points and £2-300 fine. However, as with all other offences, if you plead guilty early you get a reduced sentence. In the case of speeding, the reduced sentence is three points and a £60 fine. The standard sentence is the higher one imposed by the court. You are not penalised for pleading Not Guilty, rather you are rewarded for pleading Guilty.

ABD - Gatso Photo Checking

They're either 5ft or 2m ...he'll have to go & double check.

I got an NIP for 39 in a 30 which I thought was a bit ripe (I knew the camera was there, pass it every day) I remembered being flashed but a biker was over taking me at the time & assumed it was for him, so i asked for the photo's & then double checked the markings ...turns out my speedo wasn't over-reading by all that much & from looking at the pictures I was able to calculate my actual speed as ...32mph (hangs head in shame)

mine did & also included the 0.5s as time elapsed between photo's.

It's always worth a punt & ask for the extra info & also ask for confirmation of the marker distance too ...they normally cough up & if they don't it's normally because they've lost it ...& you'll/ he'll get a letter along the lines of 'on consideration we will not be pursuing this matter further'
