Default Tuning help

Hi All

I have a pretty much standard 02 plate WRX wagon and want to improve the BHP etc... I have a decat pipe not yet fitted and am about to purchase a mid section and back box, what sort of cost am I looking at to have the car remapped and what sort of figures would be acheived ???

Cheers

Hi mate car looks well cool
Check to see if you have a cat in the up pipe if so get that changed to a de cat one at the same time as your down pipe. Cost of a re map is £600.00 approx. Regarding the BHP increase I'm not sure what yours is standard but I would have thought with your full de cat about 50 bhp, might be a good idea to consider upgraded fuel pump and a good panel filter as well.

Good question, there are differing theories on this.. I am looking to decat so would be interested th know what the way of thinking is at the mo! I think I remember reading somewhere that the STis suffer from overboost/boost spikes if they are not remapped after a decat. Am I completely wrong here or what??!

Personally I wouldn't like to run for to long without the remap but if you need to, just run the car sensibly and drive off boost till you get the map done.
