Default Pink STi oil filter

Hi guys,

I'm looking to service the scoob (04 STi) soon. I was pricing up bits on scoobyparts and came across a STi pink oil filter Scoobyparts Ltd GENUINE STI OIL FILTER

Is this any better than the standard filter? I haven't have a look yet but I don't recall seeing a pink filter fitted by the dealer on the last service

Thanks, Rich.

Yup will be uprated, standard one will do the job for less though

How is the STi item "uprated"
I get filters from Opie Oils and they are the original, larger size.

different micron rating inside the filter itself making it filter out very very fine particles

Would that reduce the flow of oil through the filter? I'm looking to order one on the weekend, with oil and brake fluid.

That's logical but as the last post said, how does that affect flowrate? - especially as the filter gets older and /or if you use a thick oil?
