Default some advice, jdm sti, to sell or not to sell?

need some professional opinions so i thought i'd open it to the scoobynet floor!
what do you guys think is a good price for a 2004 jdm sti? I'm looking to sell but only if i can get good money but im not too sure what its worth? its in great condition. i'd be hoping for around £!4k?

I'd love to put it into a mark2 type25 but worry about the depreciation, running costs etc.....what do guys think?
pro's and cons?

should i, shouldn't i?

£14k sounds a bit steep fella for a 5yr old car? 35-40% of original value? £10-12k?

I wouldn't switch for a T25 ... just spend some more on the JDM

have to agree with TX i would not sell for a t25 unless it was a mk2 (based on the hawkeye) with the cosworth engine but they are around £30k, and i think £10-£12k seems fair although put it up at £13.5k and to stop stupid guys wanting what they can not afford and trying to offer you 8k-9k thats what i have done with my p1 (just hope it works) and i still get some intrest in it (crossed fingers)

Yup slightly too high a price, expect no more than say 11-11.5k and bottom end of 10k.
When you can pick up West Moors Motor Company : SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0L TURBO STI VERSION 9 for under 13k and 2 years newer, bit hard to fight really

thanks for the info......seems crazy, you get super performance, can better or match virtually any car on the road and at best/fair you get £10-12k! -i sorta thought that but didnt want to admit it!

if i did put in for a t25, it would have to be a mark2 hawkeye with cosworth engine and all the extra toys but then how likely is that to hold its price? how much would that likely be in 5years time??
love the scoob, think the t25 is amazing but if its not going to be worth anything if/when it comes round to changing it, it seems like a silly move.

Looks good, but if I did, it would have to be a hawkeye!

There are some good bargains around but it took me around 2 1/2 months scouting to find this car and a 3 and a half hour drive, one way.

I'm in the same boat and have similar thinking!

Even bought a T25 reg plate in preparation.

I have an 04 JDM Sti V-limited with 30K on the clock and thinking of selling.

I have done the base mods to mine, H&S 100 cell 3" exhaust, green panel filter and AF remap and now putting out 333bhp & 378ft/lbs, A set of Defi's, AST kit c/w Whiteline ALK, ARB, etc and for another 2K could have mine up to 400bhp.

I really fancy the hawkeye T25 in white (If I could get one) but wonder if I can justify the 28-30K price tag. At that kind of money I'm thinking I would be better waiting for the Impreza coupe that is meant to be out next year.

Suspect for the 30K I could buy a coupe and for 4K more on mods have a fair motor and with that thinking it's putting me off buying a Hawkeye.

Would like to see more info on the Coupe! Wonder if Litchfield has any news as I suspect he will be keeping an eye on developments.

Not due in Japan til next year so it might be a bit early yet

.

Tricky one mate! Difficult isn't it!

question is, if you go for a hawkeye, could you get decent money for it in a years time?? The rb320 seems to be holding it's value pretty well.
On the other hand, a year can be a long time if you're wanting to shift your car....while it's still got good value.
