Bonnet light pods? anyone got one?
Hi guys, ive recently seen an ra driveing around my area with the big rally style light pod on the bonnet and i think it looks real cool, real hard core rally style. Has anyone got one on their car? or anyone have any pics of them on a car? im thinking about maybe getting one now, just want to know what people think of these. Thumbs up or big thumbs down? cheers guys

Have a look in Tiny's garage. He is our ESC "Pod man".

That looks prety cool. The one im looking at has the 2 lower down and the 2 above in a pyramid shape if you know the one i mean rather than them in a straight line, They seem to be one of them things that people seem to eaither love them or hate them. I have a 98 type r v-limited , ive got some big blue rally mudguards and nice white alloys, im not planning on putting any of the rally graphics on but just think the light pod would look great.

Aside from looking naff, they mess with the airflow over the car in general, while single pods of the type Tiny has knacker the airflow into the bonnet scoop. This is why the proper Prodrive Group N pods used to be split in two with a gap left in the middle (and why the newer ones use smaller diameter lights). Not a problem if you have an FMIC, but an issue if you don't.
It's also (usually) illegal to use them on a public road anyway, due to the combined luminosity index being above the maximum of 75. Chances of you being pulled are probably slim, but all you need is one officious copper...

It passed every MOT
Yes i had a Jaguar alternator but providing their all wired individually through a relay most modern charging circuits can cope with them.
