Default wrx dyno'd

Last week my mate and I decided to put our respective marques to
the test and had them dyno'd at Thurrock in Kent.
My car 39K 55 plate WRX with Prodrive kit from new claimed 264HP
His over 100K standard E36 M3 3.0 " 286HP
His old banger first . It produced around 275,slightly down on factory
but i was counting on him losing about 40 so was pleasantly
surprised it was stll near factory figures .
Now my turn.No way was mine going to beat his figures now.
After buying the car only the week before was a bit daunted by
it going up to the limit in 4th gear.Preparation beforehand included changing the oil, standard air filter & check tyre pressures.
"Never had an engine blow up yet" said the tester, seeing my concerned face as it got onto the rollers.
He assured me that as it was a Prodrive kit it would probably make the
claimed figures. He was right ,first run was 265 & second run was 267.
That should give everyone more confidence in claimed BHP figures.
Still beat the M3 on torque figures by the way.

It's hardly a victory against a 14/15 year old 100,000 mile M3 is it?

It just proves that BMW make better engines Plus the more miles they have on the quicker they seem to get..upto about about 80K that is then wear sets in.

I've had 2 WRX with PPP.One was quick, the other wasn't. The second one was no where near the claimed 261bhp. Subaru always maintained it was within accepted tolerances.
It has now been decatted and remapped. Now it drives as it should.
The problem with PPP is that its a generic map. Just because your car makes the claimed figures doesn't mean the next one will.
Good figures, by the way
