Hello guys an'gals,
Not particularly proud ov this one and no doubt it has been aired before but......
I got stopped today for using my phone,,,I know, i'm a buffoon, moron, irresponsible etc,etc
but get this.............The copper was cool about it, just a small lecture (Fair enough!) and we ended up discussing whether smoking, eating and even talking should also be banned whilst driving. He started it all, i swear.
Thank god there are examples of rational coppers cos fines and points bore me.
Coppers are now all my mates again and i won't hear a bad word said about them
Maybe he took pity on me because I adopted the cowering, snivelling, apologetic posture instead of the expected " haven't you got anything else to do"? approach.
Hmmm maybe we can all learn from this.
Hope to meet aload of you at Donno this Sunday, i'll be dead easy to find, just follow the trail of dribble and sounds of excited schoolboy.

Things are looking up - indeed today i saw a "Bobby on the Beat" on my street - for the first time in fifteen years!!!
Yeh, a real one, with a proper helmet n'all (although he wore a high-visibility jacket, unlike the old days).
Call me old fashioned, but i do think that the hands-on approach is much better than the CCTV/Gatso/hide-in-a-van methods that seem to be the norm these days.

A guy nearly took my front end off this afternoon. He was busy talking on his mobile and went from lane 1 to lane 2 and back to lane 1, as he went round the roundabout.
I avoided him 'cos I always expect people to do it now.
One day I am going to buy a knackered old Land Rover and just let them hit me.
