In a simple answer, yes.
Power is produced much further down the rev range (1500rpm) and is far more progressive, more torque and better bhp are the outcome (and drivability).
You can drive around town at 25mph in 5th gear and the car will still pull (or 20 in 4th as those are the same ratio's as the uk car)

Sounds like a winner. Tony, if you had a choice which these are. Evo6 or jdm blob?

...why don't JDM cars come with the 2.5 short block as standard ?

Coupled with twin scroll, isn't that going to improve low down response even more ?

Or is the 2.5 block no good ?

Its for rallying purposes, rally cars are all still 2ltr engines, so you have to produce 2ltr engine cars, anyway, its a nicer engine than the 2.5 (and stronger )

oooh, sounds like driving my JGM mapped 2.5 UK sti In all seriousness tho, the JDM does pull better as a standard car. To get near it with a UK car, you need a remap etc. I just love the burble too much to go JDM. (altough they do sound cool at full tilt )
