Default Wiper blade question

Hi all, what would you recomend for wiper blades? I had the ones on the car when I got, the drivers made a knocking noise when it got to the top of the screen and starts to return. I got new halfords ones that did exactly the same

I've got some of them Aero ones on my Pug 205. Brilliant compared to any others I've had on Scoob or Peugeot.

Got three off Ebay and been excellent since day one. Look neat and tidy too with their simple design. Highly recommend them

PIAA.... defo....

We had a group buy on here not so long ago.... Alyn at AS Performance was the supplier. Might be worth giving him a shout and see what current prices are.

Mine is making the same knocking noise on the return at the drivers side.

Not sure if this is the wipers though, I am thinking the motor linkage?

My passenger wiper is smearing so might get the PIAA ones.

More cost!

fwiw I had the same knocking issue on both my previous Legacy H6 and the current STI with Halfords wipers - I 'cured' it by bending the wiper arm just a little. That was enough to stop it driving me insane

I've had the catching at the top of the wipe too. I was all set to get PIAAs when the Bosches needed replacing but then someone suggested I try cleaning the window with Autoglym glass cleaner and so far that's worked.

Have you seated the blades in the arm properly? I know it sounds daft but drivers did the same and it was the blade not clicked in place properly.

I can't see my wiper blade hitting anything as it doesn't go to the edge of the screen.
Strangely I don't seem to get the noise at low wipe speeds, only after I wipe at 60+.

Is this the same with you the_big_1?

No mine does it all the time. Its not hitting anything, it sounds more like the wiper blade is flicking over its rubber edge. Like the sreen is to sticky etc

PIAA here as well.

I had a problem with a bit of play where the blade pivots that caused some funny noises. Was more of a twang noise than a knock.

It is where the blade pivots at the end of its stroke, it might just be halfrauds blades are rubbish.

does any one know the correct lenght of these wipers?

checked eBay they all suggested 20" for both driver and passenger...

personally I think they are far too long and I couldn't find the correct measurement in the handbook...

From memory but stand to be corrected, newage should be 22" and 17"

If you're going for PIAA's its size 6 and 12
