Default What would cause ?

Hi all

I was out over the weekend in the scooby and had a good half hour to an hour exploring the grip levels on some of derbyshires best b roads.
Anyway felt a slight change in the engine so pulled over popped the bonnet and all i could see was that the rubber to hard pipe from the rad to water pump (I think)the little green cover was missing i think it must of shot off?????
Should i be worried? it drives like new again now and has not missed a beat.
But what caused this and what is it for anyway this mistery valve
Please let me know and put the mistery to the back of my mind
Thanks all
Mick

You do smell a bit

I too don't know but you might have more luck posting in General Technical mate as some of the people that know might not come in here much.

You've blown the head gaskets and the pressure blew the cap off.

Or it got shaken loose on the bumpy B-roads Scoobys love ?

Sorry !
