Question Newage WRX uprated discs

Just bought a 2001 WRX and it has a bad judder at high speed when braking, even though it has relativly new discs and pads on. I think they are cheap and possibly warped slightly, the pads rattle slightly in the caliper so I am keen to change them.
Question is are the drilled ebay discs any good? or who and what do you recommend without spending a fortune.
Thanks

I have recently bought a full set of pads and discs from CRN products on ebay, spoke to the guy on the phone and he advised the grooved ones are generally better as the drilled ones are more likely to crack. bought anodised gold grooved discs and am very pleased with them, work well, look good and was 180 for all four corners. he advertises as buy it now or best offer, make a sensible offer and you will get them cheaper.

I have the CRN ones on the rear and they are quite good. Don't get drilled ones, only really of any benefit to aid cooling if you have solid discs, and every set I have ever had have always cracked around the drillings - thy become weak spots.

Brilliant, they were the ones I had in mind actually
They come with Mintex pads and are about £200 for a full set.
Surprised he said that about drilled ones though as my M3 had drilled discs as standard and I never heard of any problems cracking.

You want to resolve a problem of cheap discs by replacing them with another set of cheap ebay discs?

Most of them are just cheap motor factor discs machined/grooved/drilled (poorly).

What pads are you using? Are you sure the problem isn't sticking pistons? Wouldn't be uncommon for a car of your age.

I couldn't agree more. I'll have a set for sale when I win the lottery and can afford my 6-pots

Pads must be cheap as they dont fit properly, Probably a kwik fit job.
I am having them stripped Thursday to inspect by someone who normally specialises in Rally stuff so knows what to do.
He said ADL are as good as any and not to buy cheap off ebay.

I agree, but was asking to see if anyone had bought any. Surprised at the comment about drilled discs cracking, that puts me off a bit as they are probably done on the cheap and as you say its asking for trouble.

Update
Well after stripping them down the front calipers were siezing ever so slightly and have perished rubber so just waiting for kits from Subaru as it seems this is the only supplier. There about 50 quid a side!
Ive gone for a full set if ebay discs and Mintex pads. Thought I would give them a go as there seems to be lots of good feedback for them.

Thanks for your help fellas

Speak to Ian Godney of godspeed, he does seal kits for about £20 per caliper, and he can also supply stainless steel calipers if they are needed
