Thumbs up Thanks Subaru!

Thanks Subaru for giving me a great 9 years of trouble free motoring in a superb performance car.

Since I picked the car up, brand new, in the year 2000 I have covered 94,000 miles.

I have treated the car as you have indicated, done nothing more - nothing less.

Not played with it, modified it or thrashed it ..... just done with it what it says on the tin.

It has towed boats, campers - even pulled cars out of ditches. It has show a clean rear to most vehicles when let go to sprint. It has carried 5 adults and a Dog and a TopBox.

OK, the petrol consumption is a bit scary at 30mpg - but I can suffer that.

It has not put a foot wrong, has had two sets of brake pads and is still on the original rear discs ... original clutch, engine and gearbox.

Excellent car, good value and the fastest thing in my street

Front Pads lasted about 65,000 miles - rears about 88,000 miles ..... so, the new ones should probably see the car out.

They are as reliable as a swiss watch if not pi55ed about with

'anticipation and skill' = slow, which can also be very dangerous in some conditions. I've lost count of the number of old fools on the road doing 30mph in a 60.

We will also still have a license when you've popped your clogs u old fart

Great argument....!!!LOL

65k on a set of brake pads though is super impressive. Do you carry a parachute in the boot?

I spent mine in 20k...woop woop! I do live in DAVOS though for 6 months of the year

I agree... Don't mess with the engine, service to factory schedule and it'll last forever..... and ever.... and ever!...

... having said that, its difficult to resist

Bioforger = Lewis' plaything no. 487 :

Lewis, well done, it just goes to illustrate what we have known about for donkey's years, great cars up to the point where the owner mods it.

its like my wife -- drives very "carefully" never had a an accident, but says she has seen loads in her rear view mirror!!

just sold mine -- bought last year for £2.5k @ 96,000 miles did trouble free 27k miles sold for 1.5k, for me it was the petrol consumption, but really enjoyed it

30 mpg is a drawback, I must agree.

I had a Calibra - loved it - it did about 45 mpg and look a $ Million. Cavalier running costs too ... best package in a car I have ever had.

However, to get such reliability in a performance car is rare - and, bar messing about with it - the Impreza is just that.

The Greenwagon was 9 years old last week too

An alarm bracket and battery under warrenty

brake pads at 45k and rears at 50k

tyres at 54 k miles after changing the wheels after 24k

and the BIGGEST thing that anoys me is the drivers mat keeps sliding forwards on its peg

So good its going into storage for 20 years and its getting a new friend to keep it company in the garage

LOL LOL what a thread the guy is thanking his ownership and gets table tennis treatment. but he did ask for it. Us kiddies have more testestoren to hit redline, you tend to loose that at old age lol.

I reckon that anyone who has a One Owner, un-molested Classic Impreza Turbo is sitting pretty - especially if it is the faster Wagon Version

Sounds a sensible, low cost alternative to a QuickShift
