Scraped bumper
#1
When I got to my car this morning I found some 'careless person' managed to scrape the paint of my bumper when parking.
However, the kind soul left their registration number and a mobile number to contact them.
Unfortunately the number is not recognised!!!
Can I go to a police station and get them to contact the owner through their registration?
I was pleasantly surprised that they left any details in the first place, but I'll be mighty p1ssed off if I go to the trouble of tracking them down only to find the details are fictitious!

It could have been that somebody saw them hit your car and they were just going through the motions of pretending to leave their details.
Hope this is not the case and get down to the police station ASAP.
Some git reversed into my WRX yesterday and drove off. Smashed the No. plate and bent the back bumper. On the bright side someone saw him/her do it and they gave me the reg. No. and description. With a bit of luck I will be able to claim of the miserable sod (if they have insurance).

Yee,
I share your suspicions. I'll get down the nick asap. I doubt however, that the boys in blue will have the time and resources to do a paint match to the registration!
All that being the case, what is the best way forward for repairing the scratch. Most of the other cars residue will wash off but the colour has been removed from the bumper right on the corner.
Is this a respray job, replacement bumper or what? How much is it likely to cost?
