All whacked on Scooby snax
First post noob.
Hi - 7 years over at mini2.com. Change of car and a hike from 220bhp (modded Cooper S) to 296bhp (MY09 STi) has seen me cross the floor to Scooby.net

Cheers all.
Good to be here.
Car looks good and I can't wait for the the 1500 mile run in period to pass.
Then it's off to Goodwood for a bit of a track day blast. Any recommendations on track day wheels and tyres for the MY08/09 STi? Was running Team Dynamics 1.0s (four stud pattern) with Toyo 888s on the Cooper S for track work. Like the 888s on a front driver - do they perform well on a 4 wheel drive?
Cheers

@pimmo2000,
GTT Tuning do a great kit for the Cooper S - did 50K miles on the converted engine with no major failings. The little thing could hustle a bit ;-)

Which wheels have you gone for?
I have the standard 17s but have had them powder coated a dark anthracite. Am wondering if I should have gone for 18s and use the 17s for track work.
Cheers

I have gone for the 330s so the standard 18's that come with it as the car ate all my budget although I wanted the anthracite G2's in 19's but I was told I'd have to set of wheels and tyres. When I have the car I might see if anyone wants to buy them off me so I can upgrade.

330S
Very nearly got one, but the missus hated the Recaros () and I figured that the cash I saved could be spent on some stiffer anti roll bars, a Prodrive upgrade and some track wheels.
If you do upgrade, I mat well be in the market for the 18s as street wheels (once I've powder coated them) and the 17s as track rims.
Having said that, keyless entry sounds good to me now that I've had some fun with the weird "the keyfob only opens the drivers door unless you enter a zen like state" thing! sheesh!

What colour did you go for?
Also, who did you insure with? I got some very odd (read extortionate) quotes when I was looking to change - ended up going with Subarus own insurance.
Cheers

I have 3 months left on my Admeral policy so had to pay and change car, but on a comparison website I quickly got it down to £350. I had a 53 WRX wagon and that was £520
