Standard newage wrx 1/4 mile times?
Just though i'd throw up a post so i can compare my time against others.
I went upto santapod last month for one of their run what ya brung events to see what the scooby would do.
It was my first time on the strip which is a bit of a pisstake really as i live a few miles down the road from pod and have been there 100's of times lol.
I have a nearly standard blobeye wrx with the only mods being a revolution back box and the last cat removed. The car is also on 18" alloys.
my times were:
15.26
15.05
14.59
There were a few other newage scoobs up there that day and none of the drivers got into the 14's so i was well chuffed!
Whats the best time for a standard newage wrx on here then , anyone have their times to hand?

I think you can vastly improve on your 60ft time alone. I was getting 1.7 somethings.
How were you launching? I found the best launches were revving, then foot to floor at about 5000rpm, slipping the clutch slightly then letting it out all the way. Goes like a bat out of hell.
What speed did you cross the line with etc? I found myself in fourth rather early lol. Just when I felt that the car wasn't pulling the same I changed.

I thought the same. Exact mods were Harvey Smith ported headers and up pipe, H&S 3" Decat downpipe straight through to a modified to a 3" Blitz Nur Spec R (the downsize to 2.5" removed and opened out to 3")
O and a dumpvalve lol.
When I watched the Defi's back max boost was 0.9bar - holding mainly at 0.7-0.8bar though.
I'm scared my STi won't go as fast
Edit - Also I had a motorbike radiator fan underneath my intercooler to keep it cool when waiting to run.

when my 2003 wrx was near standard with just an exhaust couldnt get better than 14.3.
By the sound of it , you need to practice the launch.
I find 3k to be the best rpm for launching, tried 5k but ended up with wheel spin and this obviously makes the time slower.
