Default Modine

hi there,
what the hell is with these modine things. Considering how many scoobys have big end failures surely the modines should be available anyway! There is currently one available on ebay for £170 - whats it all about, is this not an essential part to replace with a bearing failure?

what do people do with these when they have bearing failure?

it should be changed after a bearing failure as you cant clean it out properly, and yes they probably should be cheaper

oh man, the expense goes on lol

does an after market oil cooler mean you dont need a modine? seems better to get one of those if it does.

Hi Hudson,

my Hyperflow TMOC kit replaces the modine, so if you want a cheap (cleanish !) 2nd hand one PM me with an offer.... ( 02 STI)

Will need a seal off yours or a new one, as the Hyperflow kit doesn't include a new one....

isn't the modine just a water temp to oil temp converter? someone please correct me if im wrong

tbh if i had a big end go (touch wood (pats head)) i wont, i would have an uprated oil cooler fitted anyway.

its a bit irelevant cos i have one already on it though
