Default Differences between STI V5/6 and the STI V5/6 Type RA??

I did a search, and I found the following differences....

STI V5 TYPE RA: EJ207 DW1PJ
STI V5: EJ207 DW1PR
... i wonder what the differences are?

Did they have the same VF28 Turbo???

TYPE RA: Closer gear ratios, 5 speed with DCCD, R180 (2-way LSD) rear end instead of the R160 rear. AAAAND front LSD (160) instead of open front diff.

Suspension differences?

Anything else I am missing?

Thanks !!

Which Car is a WRX STi

Only 2000 RA Limited . No rear spoiler, also a two door available, BHP per tonne is 215PS vs 220 PS for the RA, weight of the Type RA is 30 kg less than a saloon STi.

Available in Cashmere Yellow.

Roof Vent.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I started at the catherine and ken site, that's why I still have these questions.

I guess I meant to ask what are the technical differences in the engines that make the HP differences. also, are the turbos/exhaust the same?

Any differences in the suspension that anyone know of? just the lateral links/etc, or does it have different springs/struts as well?

Thanks for all the contributions !!

The rear spoilers are different, the STI5 has a 12" flat rear spoiler, the STI6 has a 13" flicked up rear spoiler

V5 onwards had the large WRC style spoiler, two piece, with brake light included.

As far as I can tell the suspension, running gear etc was the same. The weight saving was achieved by losing e/w, side skirts and some other cosmetic bits.

To confuse thing you could spec it back up

I have been asking this question for awhile now, and I usually get the same answer, that there isn't any difference, But the engine code proves otherwise! What's funny to me is that The Ver5/6 STi RA limited is a 1/2000 car right? Well try finding a Non limited RA, and fell me how many you find! They should be the real limited! Did any of you guys know that there was 3 Ver5 White STi RA limited made!?! They are #'s 998-999&1000. They took the last 3 off the line and painted them WHITE! They are prolly the Rarest STi made.
Anyways, I will continue my search for a White Ver5 STi RA. Even if I can just find a vendor selling the engine and tranny, I'll be happy. In the mean time I am building one from the ground up! Check out my build thread on Rs25 & Type-RA

Version 6 has a front spoiler, and iirc needs the clutch to pressed in to start.

Thanx, yeah I saw that one, a couple small things about it that had me thinking, like the color matched mirrors, and the I/C switches are next to each other & not spaced apart like they should. These are things that could have easily just been modified, but you would be surprised at how many wannabe RA's ive found. Im sure this one is a real RA, but I've seen regular STi's with the added parts to make it into an RA, but its obvious because of the antenna being on the back quarter panel and not on the A pillar like Type-R/RA's should. It doesn't show the VIN plate to verify anything.
