Neil,
Last couple of times I just bought them from our local main dealer, only cost £10 with new gasket for drain plug. BTW same goes for the fuel filter £30.63 from main dealer
As for oil it`s personal preference I`ve been using Coma Eurotech (semi-synth) for the past six months without probs. Including the regular 1/4 strip visits..

I'll be doing an interim oil change soon and apart from the indescion over which oil to use (I know there are many opinions on this although personally I would avoid a 0w 50 grade) I wondered where people have sourced their filters from.
Is the oil filter a main dealer part or can I just pick it up in a Halfords?
Neil.

Hi Neil
I would not use a patent part oil filter. Dont know about scoobs, but many other cars use a one way valve in genuine filters to prevent oil drainage from the cams etc after engine shutdown. This prevents moving parts from starting up "dry". Non original filters dont usually have this

Neil, this topic came up a little while ago, along with the recommendation of interim oil changes, especially after track days. Conculsion was that the OEM filter is as good as any but is also essential to keep your warranty intact.
