Wink

I bought one last year from the chap in New Zealand. Quick delivery and works fine. Fitted the TD04 with no problem at all. Called a Beenie on the e-bay page. I refitted the top part of the heat shield to protect the wiring/tubes/bits ! near the turbo. It went over the beenie after a bit of cutting.
Does keep the heat in and is just like the Tracktive one but half the price.

Cheers

I cannot use the original heat shield because my FMIC pipework runs directly over the turbo. So had to take it off

Thanks for the info guys

These look good as long as they fit a TD05H 16G

Make them out of what?? I used to have exhaust wrap around them but that is messy and a pain if you want to get it off.

yeah im interested to. 130 quid is rediculous price!!!!!!

Perhaps we should find a cheap well repped supplier and go for a group buy to get perhaps 30% discount..

lol, cms I'm following you around..

There was a GB a few years back, ~£60 iirc, BUT it was a 'flat pack' job, in so much as you were supplied with a piece of THICK glass fibre/exh wrap?/reflective silver sandwich, which you had to cut yourself following included instructions, then 'sew' in the steel zip ties and fit.

I'll tell you this, it was a real PITA both cutting such thick multi layered material and then to stitch the ties. Lol, didn't stop itching for a week..! IMHO I actually managed to do a go, neat job, but given the choice again I'd definitely pay a little more and buy a custom made blanket.

On the plus side, my VF35 responded very well, keeping the heat in and therefore helping the response. I no longer get that feeling of the turbo needing a few full boost blats after warm up to perform 100%.

On a foot note, my 35 runs at 1.6bar and hasn't missed a beat, so no need to worry about overheating.

Oh and one other thing, I did manage to also refit the oe heat shield and I can touch this after a run and it's just warm..

Tracktive one looks good, would be worth approaching than re a GB price..

Guys, would you like me to see if I can get some group buy prices together? The price we sold in our clearance thread was actually lower than we paid for them - But I can see what we can do if you like? You won't find better quality if I can still get hold of them

mit, have you ever noticed that the first few full throttle pulls after a warm up from cold seems a little 'weak'..?

I did and fitting a blanket certainly helped this. Also seemed to help response in general, ie spool a little earlier. Keeping the hot side hot helps the gas speed, which, in theory equates better turbo performance.

I notice it pulls better when cold, then tails off a little when hot. If it helps cure that a little, it would be worth while to do. Plus, the red ones above will add a little more bling!

I'll take one! And if their less than £80, all the better, as the american jobbies are that sort of money, with the risk of import fees.

They do look very good , I might just get one if the price is right and keep it in case I ever need to remove turbo.

I wouldn't want to have to re-fit the one I have on now..!

Do they 'tie' together using those button thingies..?
