McRae Gathering Handover
The rescheduled presentation of funds to Jimmy McRae will take place on SUNDAY 9 AUGUST 2009 and hope that you can make it.
It will take place at CHESTER RACECOURSE, Chester, Cheshire.
We felt it is an appropriate venue for the finale of the Gathering and it is more central for people to travel to.
Doors open 12 noon and the presentation will take place at 1pm.
Put the date in your diaries for now, more information about the day will be announced later
McRae Gathering
Thanks

I'd have liked to attend this as I'm only 10 miles away but there is a big wales meet happening same day so I doubt most of the Welsh lot will be there unfortunately.

MAKE IT?............Make it? are you kidding i live just a mile from the racecourse
with regards to 'appropriate venue' this is where Colin won his last world title, its sort of come full circle
will there be tickets? will we be parking in the centre of the course?
may i make a suggestion?....... cars parked on course, this will make for a great specticle from the surrounding walls and a charity charge of £5 per car. maybe a small sticker??
being as this is the final 'funds presentation' then all money collected go's to other charities say The Richard Burns or Air Ambulance (just an idea)

there will be some sort of parking ticket system, I'm still discussing the details with Chester and deciding on the best way to manage it
I like your idea of a charity charge per car,
that may help to cover the costs of stuff we are planning (oh yes there will be things to see at Chester ), or else go towards the charity money we have raised so far for the Colin McRae Vision.
I'm not so keen on your idea about raising money for other charities, would prefer to keep the day McRae focussed, if you know what I mean.
cheers,
imy

Grant and I did the recce last weekend and I'm collating the info just now.
it was the first time we'd been down to Chester Racecourse and its a fantastic venue.
there's also been a lot of activity from the McRae Motorsport/Colin McRae Vision camps and we've been busy helping out with the Colin McRae Vision roadshow over the last 2 months.
we will start focussing on the Handover now and feeding info onto our website once things have clicked into place.
we've almost finished testing the new shop feature and have added a new product into our shelves,
keep an eye on McRae Gathering for more info, things will start moving soon
cheers,

Update - McRae Gathering
Its been over 2 months since we announced the revised date of the presentation of funds to Jim McRae and, although it may seem that nothing much is going on, we are steadily working our way through our “To Do” list behind the scenes and organising the finale of the event.
More information about the day, including access times, parking arrangements and timetable for the afternoon, will be provided soon.
If you are planning to come to Chester on 9th August and have not already voted in our poll, please do so… it helps us keep track of anticipated numbers.
In the meantime, we are very excited to announce that our Shop is now live and we have commissioned a new polo shirt to celebrate the finale of the event.
We have decided to go for black polo shirts with red/white panelling along the sleeves and shoulders. They have the “colinmcraevision” on the front and we are delighted that the family have given us approval to use this logo.
You are also able to buy A1 posters that we were selling at the end of last year.
We still have some signed posters and also Limited Mosaic Prints numbers 2 to 6 in our possession and plan to release them on eBay in the next couple of weeks…
Unfortunately we have lost our records when we switched servers and you need to Create an Account in our Shop before you are able to buy.
It is nice to see that Colin McRae Motorsports : Homepage is now live, where more information about the charity and future plans can be found.

Handover details
hiya folks,
just to let you know that we've added a whole heap of information about the Handover on our website.
Click here for details on parking, timing etc
If you're planning to attend on 9th August you need to download and print the Parking Permit, else you'll be charged £4.50 by Chester's parking people.
we're asking folk to make their own way there, we will not be organising any convoys for you.
Individual clubs have started to make their own travel plans, best to check the other forums to see what's happening.
hope that you can make it,
imy

there is just over a week to the cheque handover of the McRae Gathering.
if you're planning to come along to Chester on Sunday 9th please read through the the info on our website here
we've organised things like entry to Chester and parking permits to make things go as smoothly as we can and would like everyone to be aware of the arrangements of the day.
i'm looking forward to finally finishing this event, its been a long journey.
